Storyline:
In the small frontier mining town of Warlock, rancher Abe McQuown’s gang of cowboy cutthroats terrorize the peaceful community, humiliating the town’s legitimate deputy Sheriff and running him out of town. Helpless and in need of protection, the townsfolk hire the renowned town tamer Clay Blaisdell, as unofficial Marshal, to bring law and order to the town. Clay arrives with his good friend and backup Tom Morgan. The two men stand up to the ranch gang and quiet the town. Johnny Gannon, a former member of the ranch gang is bothered by the gang’s actions, reforms and takes on the deputy Sherrif job while his brother remains part of the gang. The addition of the official lawman to the mix further complicate matters, leading to an inevitable clash of the cowboys, the townsfolk, the gunslingers and the law.

Review:
This is one of those little known westerns that captivates you from the opening scene. It has everything you want in this genre of film: a great story, excellent characters, excellent actors and beautiful scenery & music. I’d never seen this movie and came across it while checking out the cable guide and was attracted to the title because I’m a sci-fi/horror lover. I didn’t know it was a western. When I flipped it on, I noticed what kind of movie it was and almost changed the channel when I spotted DeForrest Kelly of Star Trek fame (I’m a devout Trekker). Then I saw Richard Widmark & Henry Fonda and just stayed tuned. I was taken my this flick and recommend it to anyone. I caught it in the middle so when it was over, I immediately went to the cable guide and searched for when it would be on again and made sure I watched it from beginning to end. WHAT A GREAT MOVIE! I also just ordered the VHS tape from Amazon.com. Definitely a MUST-SEE!!! Written by cdipatri.

  7. So many of these westerns made in the 50s and 60s had forgettable soundtrack music, this one included. But Morricone showed up and changed all that.

  27. Very beautiful movie indeed

  28. Such an entertaining movie, I have a good time every time I watch it, and I watch it fairly regularly here on good old YouTube!
Here's one of my favorite scenes:
Fitz yells at Blaisdell , "an you aint gonna stop us, we'll tromp you down like the rest!"
Blaisdell calmly replies, "C'mere an tromp me Fitz, c'mere." Fitz's bad ass demeanor suddenly dries up and he meekly approaches Blaisdell, stops 6 or 9 feet away nervously looking at his friends for support that just aint there.
Blaisdell again says, "C'mere" a couple more times and finally Fitz gets up enough nuts to walk up to Blaisdell only to have Blaisdell smash him on the top of his big ugly head with his gun, one of the best goddamn 'no-shit' scenes in the movie. Hell I laugh each and every time I see that scene hahaa!!!
A big Thank you to BigTime for posting this movie and another great big Thank You to YouTube for this great service that you give us for free! Shucks I got severe PTSD so bad that at times I have to isolate myself here in my old motorhome with my rescue kitties to keep the public safe from me and I have a broken back as well so yeah, I'm usually on the broker side of the financial world but hey, I'm still alive!!

  29. A film about Loyalty , Alturism , and moments of truth . It is also about the firm belief in the Rule of Law and Justice without which no community can survive .

  30. I graduated from high school in 1959 and I have never seen this movie, and I watched a lot of westerns. The cast and plot development of this western is the best I have ever seen. I recommend it to anyone.,.,.,.,.

  31. I discovered this gem long ago, owned it, know all the dialogue. If you think about it too much, there is an almost homosexual attraction of Morgan, for Clay. When Clay walks out, Morgan is completely lost…….then after Morgan dies, Clay is broken, and lost. The scene of him standing alone on the burned-out porch…..he says to his girl "Jessie, Jessie. WHY did he do it?" Meaning shoot up the town and let himself be killed……she says "I don't know." That is a hint, maybe, that Morgan was TOO fond of Clay. Watch Morgan's face when Clay tells him he's marrying Jessie! Jealousy….I'm not the first person to notice this possibility, professional critics have brought it up too

  32. The Mexican canyon killings did actually happen.

  33. That was one of the best western movie I've ever seen I grew up watching lots of western movies but none were better than this movie. Thanks for sharing this movie with us. Loved it!!!

  34. Film keren gini ….orang Indonesia pada kemana, apa dikira gak ada sub nya kali yahh…

  35. This here movie is another one of my favorites, I watch it almost regularly, once a month or so. Henry Fonda's always been a big favorite of mine. It's a damn shame his dipshit daughter turned out to be such an embarrassing asshole, Hanoi Jane hahaa! His son Peter, even though he can't really act worth a shit, at least he's not an asshole. That said, I still won't watch a movie with him in it, if I see him in a movie I'm watching I just find myself another movie to watch. About the only movie I can tolerate with him is Easy Rider and that's pushin it LOL!

  36. Frank Gorshin, who played Richard Widmark's Little Brother, Billy Gannon, was the Original Riddler in the Old Batman series.

  37. I was positive they'd never show the gold gun handles, but in the last minute they finally did. I was positive he'd marry the woman, but he left town without her. I saw elements of Wyatt Earp and in the movie Tombstone there are elements from Warlock. I now get the stardom of Anthony Quinn. Good movie.

  38. Nice

  39. weird…mama died about nineteen years ago…and his little brother just happens to be nineteen

  40. Very good western. Strange relationships.

  41. Great western!!!!
Richard Widmark, Henry Fonda and Deforest Kelley did a great job in this.

  42. sounds like a ga y movie to me

  43. The plot line was confusing

  44. Henry Fonda was also great in Once Upon A Time In The West
