  1. Fuuuuudge i just wanna see ep 2 but my cable HAD to not work for American horror story…

  2. Yes I agree no more singing it's just distracting. Maybe if it was just a little singing but no it's the whole song no don't like that at all

  3. Im kinda mad that you guys threw Angela Basset all the way left, like shes not a strong actress but just a strong mannered actress. You guys are lame for that one.

  4. I'm probably humanizing the clown too much with this theory, but ….maybe  the people he has held captive bear a resemblance to a  family or people close to him , like a child, daughter, or wife. Something bad happened to them in Jupiter that left him horribly maimed   and he is seeking revenge while trying to restore that family

  5. What was the song they were playing at the beginning?

  6. Prediction: Twisty and Dandy start their own Clown Freak Troupe with the 2 kids

  7. Clowns have had a rough go since Poltergeist and there is a reason behind them complaining about making clowns look bad

  8. i bet Twisty had a younger brother and sister and thats why he kept the boy and girl

  9. the name game song was great

  10. Awesome, hilarious, and very insightful recap/review you guys! The singing in this episode was  a nice showcase for the Twins and it felt much more relevant to the story, whereas in the Premiere, it felt totally out of place.  The 'Name Game' song in Season 2, was so awesome I loved it!  The beginning with Twisty in the toy store was super freighting, and it really got me spooked! The strongman character introduced in this episode I instantly both hated/was intrigued by especially what he did to one of the other freaks. Dandy and Twisty's burgeoning , partnership is something I was totally mesmerized by and I cannot wait for next week's Part 1 Halloween Special to see more of Dandy and Twisty's interactions and to finally get some backstory about Twisty!

  11. Angela Bassett's character said to Jessica Lange's character that she had a penis.

  12. I love the creative characters Ryan Murphy comes up with underrated Frances Conroy!

  13. Y'all clearly don't do your research. It's been said that nothing is under the skin cap. Y'all also clearly don't LISTEN when you watch, since Desiree flat out said " three titties, working girl parts and a dingaling", so yes, that DOES make her a hermaphrodite. Either get your shit together or find people who actually give a shit about more than murder and blood.

  14. Love to find this

  15. I'm new to AHS, and watched only one episode of Glee, so I don't have much by way of comparison, but so far, I'm loving it. So looking forward to seeing what will they do with Matt Bomer, and getting Twisty' s back story.  I figured Dandy Mott would turn out to be a total freak, and he will be too much for even Twisty. The scene where Gloria asks Twisty if he does children's parties and the look he gives her is pure gold. The songs have been great and the anachronism doesn't bug me at all. Honestly, I think it adds to the freakishness. Thought the diner scene was powerful. I know you guys thought it was a bridge too far, but it worked for me, and emphasized what being treated less than human feels like when you can't simply get a meal. On the other hand, I did think it was interesting that no one seemed to blink an eye that Dell and Desiree are an interracial couple which is kinda cool although once you admit that you have three breasts and you are a hermaphrodite, there may not be room for anything else. :),

  16. Ryan Murphy has confirmed that Season 5 will not be space themed.  Here's an interview with Entertainment Weekly.  http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/10/16/ahs-freak-show-exclusive-ryan-murphy-episode-two/

  17. LOVE this SO MUCH!!! Any chance of seasons 1, 2 and 3 Afterbuzz shows still being on? Because this is the "first" time I'm checking AHS Afterbuzz shows. Dandy's actor reminds me SO MUCH of Logan Huffman from V, resemblance is uncanny as is the guy who died in the doll store who is a perfect twin of Glee's Kurt Hummel. I read somewhere that Ryan said in an interview that the theme of Season 5 has not yet been guessed correctly… with all the references it would seem that it's Space but Ryan said it'll be in the United States and not actually in space.

    Can't wait for next week!!!

  18. i Agree about the Diner scene. It was kind of forced & it rubbed me the wrong way because it was a moment in Civil Rights history & it felt like AHS copied it and made it into something else. I understand the message behind it & I'm sure they didn't mean to offend anyone but it was unnecessary, the episode could have done without it.

  19. I can't recommend the classic Tod Browning film FREAKS enough and I can't wait to hear what you all think about it.  Ryan had already gone on record as saying that he definitely used the film as an inspiration for this series.  To this day, it's one of the scariest films I've ever seen and not just for the appearance of real sideshow performers.  It was mainly the script, cinematography and editing; like watching a bad dream.  Those last 20 minutes are unforgettable.  You'll definitely see how it inspired AHS: FREAK SHOW.

  20. What's the name of the song you guys played at the beginning of the podcast? Btw love ur podcast!

  21. David this is bullshit, you said you were gonna do you hair like that guy. Haha

  22. Although, I like the idea of free masons. That was a theory from last season.

  23. I think it's very possible the next season could be an area 51 type thing. I did pick up on all the space clues, plus the tie the landlord was wearing in episode one has planets on it. That could be a great theme, because it wouldn't necessarily be just about aliens, but the secrets that could be kept about it.

  24. Oh and you guys should check on the reality show Freak Show on AMC. It's based on the Venice Beach Freak Show. They have a lobster man and the world's smallest woman.

  25. I think Twisty is Elsa's ex husband. He wanted a circus and she wanted a freak show. She left him because he wasn't enough of a freak for him. He's doing all this to prove he can be a freak and get back at her.

  26. Twisty is going to ultimately kill Dandy since Twisty wants to please and he will by becoming the hero to Dandys sadistic nature in regards to the kids he's holding hostage. I can't wait for his backstory. Matt Bomer and The Strong Man may both engage in raping the twins. I'm not comfortable with a rape aspect of the show especially since it was done in Asylum.

  27. Ok, what the fuck is up with the clowns mouth, I'm so scared to sleep!

  28. Great review. My only real comment is that pretty much everyone in the Freak Show has a real life counterpart. I think pretty much every character in every Freak Show movie is based on real people from the past with those same conditions.

  29. So a the landlord's last name that Else talks to in the first episode is Haddonfield. Ryan Murphy has stated that he has dropped clues in the first few episodes as to what the next season will be. Haddonfield is the hometown of Michael Myers so maybe the next season will be a Slasher flick, which would be cool almost like a Scream or something.

  30. The FIRST season was the best to me. Asylum had everything but the kitchen sink and Coven blew. This season looks good so far.

  31. I'm not a fan of musicals but the songs this season are kind of working for me. The freaks are performers. This is what they do. I expect there will be many more songs before the end of the season. It seems like this season is mixing things up a little bit. Its got the darkness of seasons one and two and the light hearted feel (if you can call a season of AHS light hearted) of season 3. I'm loving it so far. I don't know if this is my favorite season yet since its only the second episode. But it very well could be!

  32. Great review! I like this panel on here. you guys point some things out that I don't notice.

  33. Just about the singing, Murphy said they're only using songs by artists who have described themselves as a freak/outcast so I think that's a nice link and is enough to get over the whole wrong era thing 😉

  34. I do agree, about the possible Space theme. So many space references and about the stars, but there have also been copious mentions of stardom, movies, and Hollywood. The way Jimmy Darling was dressed in the diner scene of the first episode, was very reminiscent of Marlon Brando in "The Wild One." What I think may happen, is that next season will be an Old Hollywood theme with alien/cult storylines tying the season up. Of course, this is all subject to change as the season unravels. OH, and as a prediction, I think Matt Bomer will be in a threesome with The Strong Man and his wife. Well, that might be wishful thinking. If there is rape involved, I do believe it will be the Strong Man that is raped. It just seems like a plausible twist due to how his character is portrayed.
Ok…..that's all I have for now.

  35. I know in the opening credits of AHFS they show a clown wearing a lil preppy boy outfit holding a red balloon and its head is spinning and I forget the lil rich boys name in the show lol but I think he is gonna be Twistys apprentice?! Could that be accurate? 🙂 love the show you guys!!!

  36. There's never any talk about how these ppl never seem to be scared of the clown. Last episode the girl just stood there while the clown was coming towards her. This episode the woman just drives up to the clown, these ppl aren't bright. Anything that look suspicious these ppl go straight towards it and wanna investigate, these ppl are stupid. Lol

  37. In the episode Angela Bassett character says she has "working lady part" and a full functional man parts too

  38. The episode got progressively better, better overall than the 1st. Characters are starting to develop, motives rising, personalities and conflicts coming about as well.

I think Dell provided an interesting dynamic this episode. He was somewhat of an antagonist. It'll be interesting to see the power struggle between him and Elsa; also his relationship with Jimmy.

The best part of the episode for me was Twisty and Dandy. Their dynamic is so strange that it's good. I'm interested in finding out what they are both thinking and their motives.

Lastly, I wish the supporting actors spoke more (seal guy, leg less lady, etc) rather than being visual props.
